8-13-14: This evening, my daughter Alyssa and I bonded in a way we never had before: we laid down on our backs together on the grassy backyard, looked straight up at the puffy white clouds above, and went cloud-gazing for a whole 15 minutes! She didn’t want us to stop watching! It was rather magical. She kept seeing funny chickens in every passing cloud formation! Most of all, she really enjoyed doing this fun, creative activity. It stimulated her imagination and it was something we could share together, artist-father-dreamer and daughter. Frankly, I loved it. I won’t deny that it made me feel young again – almost like staring into a widescreen portal of the fountain of youth. It was a rare alchemical combination of appreciation of nature and startling flights of fantasy. Just a neat little moment of a cool summer day at play…
